This webcam is located in the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Here, on the territory of the Great Mosque, stands the Islam’s holiest stone, the Kaaba. This city is a sacred place for the Muslims from the whole planet. One of the five basic rules of Islam tells every follower of Allah to visit this place at least once in his life.
With the help of this webcam you can take a glance at the magnificent and grandiose Al-Masjid al-Haram. The pilgrims have to stop at the Black Stone and kiss it. If they cannot do so, they turn to it on each of their seven circuits around the Kaaba.
Just some meters away from The Great Mosque of Mecca stands the high Abraj Al-Bait Towers. At the top of the highest tower of this structure is set a four-faced clock. It is situated at the height of 400 meters and is the highest clock in the world. All four of the clock’s faces are 46 meters in diameter and have a huge inscription in Arabic meaning “Allah is great”. Now just imagine, the weight of the whole mechanism is 21 tone… Very impressive, isn’t it?
